Timeless Golf in the Ozarks Ozarks National Golf Course

Among the world-class courses that Big Cedar Lodge offers, is Ozarks National, Missouri’s first and only golf course designed by architect duo, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Measuring 7,036 yards from the back tees, this 18-hole course represents all of what the Ozarks terrain has to show.

Move right through the challenging carriers as you admire the beautiful views and a variety of visually appealing approach shots—spotlighting the native habitat that surrounds you. Also appearing throughout the course are several riveting features, including a 400-foot wooden beam and plank bridge, which connects the tee box and fairway of the 13th hole that stands 60-feet above a flowing creek.

HOLE-BY-HOLE

As you prepare to experience the splendor that is Big Cedar Golf, take a hole-by-hole tour to get a taste of the courses that make up America’s Nature Golf Destination.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 1 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 1 · Par 5

Hole 1 features challenging sand bunkers guarding the left edge. If a player wishes to go for it in two shots, this relatively short par 5 requires a tee shot down the left side of the fairway to have the best angle to approach the front of the green.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 1 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge
Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 2 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 2 · Par 3

Hole 2 is a medium length par 3 playing uphill to an elevated green. You can expect wind to be a factor in the green guarded by deep greenside sand bunkers short right and long left.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 2 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge
Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 3 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 3 · Par 4

For the best angle of approach into an elevated green, protected by greenside sand bunkers, a tee shot just short to the right of the left side fairway sand bunker is what you need.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 3 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge
Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 4 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 4 · Par 4

Hole 4, with a ridgetop dogleg right par 4 is up and requires an accurate uphill tee shot toward a framing left side fairway bunker to have a good look at the green. With the approach into the green being downhill, wind must be taken into consideration.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 4 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge
Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 5 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 5 · Par 4

Hole 5 plays downhill over bunkers toward a pair of imposing trees. For this short dogleg right par 4, keeping the tee shot to the right of the trees is required for a short uphill approach into an elevated green, featuring a restored “Stone House” more than 100-years-old in the background.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 5 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge
Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 6 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 6 · Par 3

Hole 6 features a long par 3 that plays from an elevated tee to a green guarded by bunkers left and right.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 7 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 7 · Par 5

Bigger hitters are invited to cut off as much as they choose for a chance to hit the green in two in this dogleg left par 5. If you’re looking for a safe play, hitting down the right side sets up an easy short iron approach for a third shot into the green.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 7 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge
Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 8 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 8 · Par 3

Hole 8 features a dramatic par 3 playing over a steep native area. This hole requires a tee shot with good distance control to carry deep frontal greenside bunkers, staying short of an imposing bunker behind the green.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 8 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge
Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 9 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 9 · Par 5

Hole 9, a lengthy dogleg left par 5, requires a modest tee shot to the right of a large bunker guarding the left side. Follow up with a second shot over bunkers and native areas to set up a short approach into this long narrow green protected by greenside bunkers right and long.

Hole 10 · Par 4

The inward nine begins with this sweeping dogleg right uphill par 4. A tee shot down the right center of the fairway challenging a fairway bunker guarding the right side will allow for the best approach angle into this elevated and large green protected by greenside bunkers left and right

A tee shot down the right center of the fairway, challenging a fairway bunker guarding the right side, will be the best approach angle to take on this elevated and large green, which is protected by greenside bunkers left and right.

Hole 11 · Par 5

Hole 11 is medium length par 5 requiring a tee shot down the right side that will set up a second shot uphill. Staying center in the fairway will allow for a short iron approach into this elevated green with greenside bunkers guarding the front right side.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 12 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 12 · Par 3

Hole 12 reveals an extensive par 3 across a steep slope of native grasses into the largest green on the course, demanding proper club selection for the best chance at a birdie, or at least two putts for a par.

Hole 13 · Par 4

A long dogleg left par 4, requires a tee shot that must carry a deep ravine and two bunkers to reach the fairway before reaching a flat lie. The long uphill approach into this green must deal with wind and two greenside bunkers protecting the front of the green.

Hole 14 · Par 4

This par 4 on a ridgetop creates a vision of a fairway into the sky off the tee but has a large landing area where the green comes into view. Aiming just left of the right side bunkers on the tee shot will allow for the best approach into this large green guarded by several greenside bunkers short, left and long.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 15 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 15 · Par 4

A medium length par 4 with cross bunkers in the fairway that are easily carried off the tee into a fairly large landing area setting up a short approach into the green protected by greenside bunkers left and long right. Aim your tee shot over the second bunker from the left for the largest landing area.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 16 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 16 · Par 4

This long par 4 requires an accurate tee shot to set up an uphill approach into the elevated green guarded by a deep frontal bunker and greenside bunkers left and right with the 100+ year old “Stone House” in the background. Club selection and wind must be calculated properly to find the center of this green.

Hole 17 · Par 3

A short par 3 with spectacular views plays to the north from an elevated tee. The green is heavily guarded by 4 bunkers and plays downhill and normally downwind.

Ozarks National Golf Course - Hole 18 - Golf at Big Cedar Lodge

Hole 18 · Par 4

The finishing par 4 sweeps left to right and has a large landing area off the tee. The long approach to a very elevated green requires excellent club selection to carry a front bunker into another large green. Once on the green, the views are incredible and a great way to enjoy the end of a round of golf in the Ozarks.
