48 golfers and creators made their way to Big Cedar Lodge in August for the first-ever Internet Invitational, hosted by Barstool Sports and Bob Does Sports. Now, the content filmed that weekend in the Ozarks is officially live — and fans are tuning in.
What Is the Internet Invitational?
From August 12–16, Big Cedar Lodge’s world-class golf courses in Ridgedale, Missouri, became the backdrop for one of the most talked-about creator golf tournaments of the year.
The Internet Invitational brought together influencers, professional athletes, and golf personalities for a $1 million competition filled with high energy, creativity, and a few unexpected moments.
The lineup featured big names including former NFL Head Coach Jon Gruden, Paige Spiranac, and former PGA Pro Rick Shiels, along with Barstool and Bob Does Sports regulars like Robby Berger, PFT, and Frankie Borelli.
The Kickoff at Top of the Rock
The series opens at Top of the Rock, where players gathered for the official tournament draft — setting the stage for an unforgettable week in the Ozarks.
Before the teams were chosen, Bass Pro Shops founder and noted conservationist Johnny Morris welcomed the group with heartfelt words about the Ozarks and the spirit of the event:
“I remember my brother-in-law, my wife Jeanie’s brother, Uncle David, said, ‘Johnny, one of these days this World Wide Web is going to be a real big deal.’ We’re proud to welcome you here to our home. We love our home. We love the Ozarks, and I know a lot of you come from a long way, but from all of us, it’s an honor to have you here,” said Morris.
Why Big Cedar Lodge Was the Perfect Host
Known as America’s Premier Nature Resort, Big Cedar Lodge offered the ideal setting for an event that merges the spirit of competition with the art of storytelling.
Throughout the tournament, participants played across Big Cedar’s award-winning golf courses, including Payne’s Valley, designed by Tiger Woods, which featured prominently in the first episode.
For Barstool and Bob Does Sports, Big Cedar offered more than just a location; it delivered a once-in-a-lifetime experience that blended luxury, adventure, and the beauty of the Ozarks.
Golfers even had the chance to stay in Big Cedar’s breathtaking Payne’s Valley Cottages.
These private cottages offer full kitchens, stone fireplaces, private patios, and sweeping views of the Ozark Mountains. Perfect for a buddies trip or family getaway, guests enjoy easy access to world-class golf courses and all of Big Cedar Lodge’s award-winning amenities and activities.
The cottages made such an impression that one player, Luke Kwon, even slept through his 9:30 a.m. tee time — inspiring one of our favorite Instagram moments from the week:
The post quickly took off, reaching over 19,000 likes on the first day and sparking laughs from fans across the golf community. Big Cedar Lodge even gave followers a peek inside Luke Kwon’s Internet Invitational sleep chamber, proving just how hard it is to leave these relaxing mountain hideaways behind.
A Moment of Tribute
The series premiere also carried a heartfelt moment of remembrance.
Shortly before the release, the golf community mourned the loss of Cody “Beef” Franke, Head Golf Pro of Barstool’s Fore Play podcast and one of the tournament’s competitors.
Cody took the first tee shot of the Internet Invitational, finding the fairway — a moment now honored in the first episode and in a recent tribute video from the Barstool and Bob Does Sports teams.
