THE CLIFFHANGERS STORY
Cliffhangers will be the third par-3 course at Big Cedar, joining Mountain Top and Top of the Rock. Top of the Rock was the first par-3 course to host an officially sanctioned PGA Tour event. Morris and his team have high expectations for Cliffhangers to follow suit when it comes to recognitions and events. Cliffhangers will become a bucket-list item for anyone who loves the game of golf or the natural environment and beauty of the Ozarks.
Big Cedar Lodge has been redefining the perception of golf since the resort’s first course opened in 1996. The growing golf portfolio at Big Cedar Lodge is bringing to life Morris’ vision to create “America’s Next Great Golf Destination” that combines a shared appreciation for nature and a premier golf experience, all with an emphasis on conservation.
Big Cedar Lodge has become a premier destination for golf by attracting some of the world’s leading course architects, including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Tom Fazio, Gary Player, Bill Coore, Ben Crenshaw, Tiger Woods, and now Johnny & John Paul Morris. Cliffhangers joins five existing and top-rated courses at the resort – Payne’s Valley (Tiger Woods), Buffalo Ridge (Fazio), Ozarks National (Coore & Crenshaw), Mountain Top (Player) and Top of the Rock (Nicklaus).
Ozarks National Practice Facility
The Ozarks National Practice Facility is accessible for guests playing on Ozarks National, Payne’s Valley, and Mountain Top. The practice area features two putting greens, a three-green short game area with sand bunkers, and a driving range featuring Zoysia Grass and artificial hitting surfaces. To prepare your game for the challenge of Ozarks National, the greens are all situated above or below the hitting area, similar to what you will see out on the course.
- Pricing: The Practice range is complimentary for golfers with tee times and is not open to the public. Visitors wishing to use one of our premier practice ranges may do so at the Buffalo Ridge practice facility.
The Ozarks National practice facility closed on Monday afternoons. However, golfers may use the Buffalo Ridge practice facility instead during this window.
Tom Watson Putting Course
The Tom Watson Putting Course was designed by Missouri-native and World Golf Hall of Fame legend, Tom Watson, and is inspired by the historic Himalayas putting grounds at the Old Course at St. Andrews. Sitting high atop the Ozark Mountains, Watson’s masterpiece at Big Cedar Lodge covers over one acre of land near the Mountain Top Club House. The course consists of nine challenge holes sure to test any golfers putting skills. Enjoy a beverage from the Mountain Top Grill as you navigate the greens overlooking the beautiful Mountain Top Golf Course.
